Update on "Ban-the-Box" Laws 
For those who are not yet aware, just a reminder that New York City's "ban-the-box" law - known as the "Fair Chance Act" ("NYC Act") - went into effect on Tuesday, October 27, 2015.

The FCA is similar to other "ban-the-box" laws, such as New Jersey's "Opportunity to Compete Act" ("NJ Act") that went into effect on March 1, 2015.

The NYC Act applies to employers and employment agencies doing business in New York City with at least four employees in New York City.  The NJ Act applies to employers and employment agencies doing business in the State of New Jersey with at least fifteen employees in New Jersey.  Read more...
